The island shaped like a guitar. St. Kitts is the first island to be colonized by the British, this is why they are referrer to as the “Mother Colony of the West Indies”. St Kitts was our our 3rd island on the Carnival Fascination Cruise. Half us went on a tour while the other half went on an ATV adventure. The people of St Kitts ( Kittians) are so pleasant, their population is around 38,000 people and 18,000 in St. Nevis.
Before coming to St Kitts, I really didn’t know much despite knowing several people from there. It was very fascinating to learn how close their relations are with Taiwan. Taiwan is helping them to become the first green country in the Caribbean. They provided them with 4 blocks of solar lights so far.
The island of St. Kitts is so small but had a lot of beauty. Being that there wasn’t a lot for us to tour and see, we headed over to Cockleshell beach. This beach had all the vibes we were looking for, there was a reggae bar with strong drinks, delicious food and good music. There were locals on the beach hanging out and soaking up some sun. Moe and I had the pleasure of meeting a 9 years old boy named Tafaree. He was such a sweetheart and just wanted to stay in the water with us.
After leaving Cockleshell beach, our driver insisted there was one last place he had to take us before going to the cruise port. Timothy Hill this is where you can see the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean sea meet. I don’t know how this place isn’t listed on the list of the ‘wonders of the world’. (Header/ See picture below). It was truly a breathtaking view.
Overall St Kitts, was a nice place. It seemed more peaceful than the other island. When I came back a lot of people told me that I should have went over to Nevis; so that’s definitely in my plans in the future.
